If your computer crashes or files become corrupt you can restore your QB2014 company file. When QuickBooks backs up your data, it creates a .DMG file that includes a copy of your QB2014 file and Attached Documents Library folder. To restore your QB2014 company file from a backup: Go to your backed up disk image and double-click the icon in order to mount it. Drag the QB2014 file wherever you want it located. Put the Attached Documents Library folder in the same location as the QB2014 file as well. Open your company file, select QuickBooks → Preferences and choose Attachments. NOTE: Previous versions of QuickBooks for Mac use the extensions .QB2013, .QB2012, .QB2011, etc. Although these are called legacy files in the QuickBooks 2014 release.
