A VZM file is a data file created by Message+, a messaging app provided by Verizon Wireless. It contains one or more messages sent or received from a smartphone or computer.

VZM files are created when a user chooses to save his text messages from the Message+ app on his phone or computer. A user may save them for the purpose of backing them up or sharing with others. While Message+ creates the VZM file it cannot be used to open the file. The VZM file is stored in XML, which means a user can view the contents with a text editor. Users can also rename the extension from .vzm to .html and then open it as an .HTML file with a web browser, like Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, or Microsoft Edge.
