Search Connectors are installed on the user computer using an OpenSearch Description .OSDX file, which contains information about the remote service. After the OSDX file is opened, the SEARCHCONNECTOR-MS file is installed to the [user]\Searches\ directory and appears as a folder with a magnifying glass graphic. When you open the file, Windows opens an Explorer window with the contents of the remote location. NOTE: Search Connector files do not display the ".searchconnector-ms" extension.
