A PCT file is an image saved in the Macintosh PICT format, which was developed by Apple in 1984 for storing images using Apple QuickDraw technology. It contains image data in one of two formats, PICT 1, the original format that stores 8 colors, or PICT 2, a newer format that allows thousands of colors (24 and 32-bit images). PCT files support both raster and vector images.

While PICT images most commonly use the .PICT file extension on Macintosh computers, they typically are seen with a ".pct" extension in Windows. The PICT format has largely been deprecated to the more flexible .PDF format in Mac OS X.

Pure Compound Text File

Classification:data file
Chemical data file used by ChemSep, an application used to simulate distillation, extraction, and absorption operations; contains component data, such as the name, index, CAS number, formula, structure, T correlations, and molecular values.

instruction:

You can import and export the data from or to a PCT file in ChemSep through the PCDmanager. To access the PCDmanager, select Databanks → Pure components data (PCD/PCT), click Edit, and select Import component from file or Export component to file. NOTE: Data in PCT files is stored in text format, whereas .PCD files store data in binary format.
