File created by QuickBooks, a financial management application; contains a customized template of an invoice, sales receipt, estimate, credit memo, statement, or purchase order that can be used with another QuickBooks company file; created by the Layout Designer tool in QuickBooks.

To create a LAYOUTDESIGNER file: Open Layout Designer. At the top of the form choose an existing template, select New Template... or Edit Current Template.... Customize your template. You can choose what types of information show up on the form and you can format the template by adding a logo, changing fonts, adding a background image, etc. Once you're done editing the template, select File → Export, then choose the format you want to export the template to: .TIFF, .PDF, or the LAYOUTDESIGNER file.
