A CWPRJ file contains a project created by Brother CanvasWorkspace, a program used to create or modify cutting and drawing designs. It stores a design, which may include text, shapes, images, custom drawings, and information about colors applied to the design. CWPRJ files allow users to save edits to a design, close the project, then reopen for further editing.

To save a design as a CWPRJ project file in CanvasWorkspace, select File → Save or Save As..., choose the save location, name the file, and click Save. CWPRJ files can only be opened by CanvasWorkspace. When you are finished editing the design, save it as an FCM file, which is supported by various Brother cutting machines. To save the design as an FCM file, select File → Export FCM file..., choose the save location, name the file, and click Save.
