AVASTLIC files are typically sent to users as an email attachment when the product is purchased online. Once received, they can be opened by double-clicking them. After the license is installed, users can view the subscription information by selecting MAINTENANCE → Subscription within the program. Avast licenses can also be installed by clicking the "Insert license file" button in the program's "Subscription" window, or by supplying the license file during the software installation process. NOTE: After purchasing some versions of Avast, users may receive a License.dat file instead of an AVASTLIC file. In this case, the ".dat" file usually has a license key that can be copied by opening the file with a text editor, such as Microsoft Notepad.
