AsciiDoc files can be used for multiple purposes, but are commonly used for software documentation. For example, many programs available on the GitHub website are documented using AsciiDoc. NOTE: ADOC files are saved with an ".adoc" extension to indicate that they contain AsciiDoc syntax. However, they are saved in the same format as a plain text file, which has a .TXT extension.
