File created by Samsung Kies, a desktop program that manages Samsung phone and tablet devices; contains backup data for different personal information items such as Contacts, S Memo, S Planner, Call Log, Music, Photos, User Preferences, and Messages.

To create a SBU file: Click the Back up/Restore tab. With the Data backup option selected, select the items you'd like to back up by clicking the check boxes. Click the Backup button, after the back up is completed, click Complete. On Windows, the SBU files will be located here: C:\Users\{username}\Documents\samsung\Kies\Backup To restore SBU files to your device: Click the Back up/Restore tab. With the Restore data option selected, select the items you'd like to restore by clicking the check boxes. Click the Restore button, after the restore is completed, click Complete.
