Peak file created by Adobe Audition, an audio production application; contains waveform data related to a specific .WAV file; generated automatically when an audio file is opened or imported.

PKF files provide a visual display of the waveform within an audio file. Once a PKF file has been generated, the waveform does not need to be re-rendered each time the audio file or corresponding project file is opened. NOTE: The PKF format was introduced in Adobe Audition CS5.5. It is similar to the .PK format used by previous versions of Audition, but contains floating-point data and can display waveform data for audio signals above 0dB. Since PKF files use a newer file format than PK files, they are only recognized by Audition CS5.5 and later.
